Food Allergy Test
Food Reactions
Researchers estimate that 60% of the U.S. population suffers from reactions to foods that can cause or complicate a health problem. Symptoms can be extraordinarily diverse, ranging from migraines to eczema. Therefore, many health professionals routinely consider food allergies or intolerances when evaluating a patient’s health problem.
Two major types of food reactions involve antibody production in your body:
Immediate Reactions to Foods (IgE)
Classic allergic reactions occur within three hours after eating. They are usually caused by high IgE antibody blood levels that produce an immediate allergic response. This allergic reaction may appear as a rash after eating strawberries or crabmeat. The potentially fatal but very rare “anaphylactic” reaction after eating peanuts or shelfish is another example of an IgE reaction.
Delayed Reactions to Foods (IgG)
These reactions are much more difficult to notice since they can occur hours or days after consumption of an offending food. Yet, this delayed type of reaction is far more common than the immediate IgE type. In some cases, you may eat a food for several days before developing a reaction to it, so you may not realize the link between the food and your symptoms. These delayed reactions to food are often referred to as “hidden” food allergies. They are caused by increased IgG antibody blood levels in reaction to specific foods. Often, the offending foods are hard to avoid and frequently eaten, such as milk, corn, and wheat.
IgG Food Antibody Testing clearly identifies those foods you are eating that may be causing health problems.

Estronex 2/16 Test
The Estronex 2/16 Test is a measurement of these two important forms of estrogen: 2-OHE1 (the “good” estrogen) and 16-a-OHE1 (the “bad” estrogen). The ratio of “good to bad estrogen” is determined from a single urine specimen. Studies have shown that women with low Estronex 2/16 ratios have much higher rates of breast cancer. Low Estronex 2/16 ratios also indicate increased long-term risk for other estrogensensitive cancers, including uterine, ovarian, cervical, and even head and neck cancers.

Estronex Test with Bone Resorption
Accelerated loss of bone affects more than 25 million Americans. The majority of these are postmenopausal women, but men, younger women, and otherwise healthy, active individuals can also experience the dangerous thinning and weakening of bones known as osteoporosis. Complications of osteoporosis are the 12th leading cause of death in the United States.
Bone Formation vs. Resorption
Bone is a very active tissue. It is undergoing constant “remodeling,” which is a process of formation and resorption (breakdown). Osteoporosis, a loss of bone density, occurs when the resorption rate is greater than the rate of formation of new bone.
Since bone formation is difficult to measure, it is important to determine if you are among the men and women with rapid bone breakdown. If you are, you have the greatest risk for osteoporosis. On a positive note, you are also among the group who can benefit most from therapies we might recommend.
A series of bone scans can be expensive and can only indicate changes in your bones over a six to twelve month period. They can’t show your current bone activity. The bone resorption test measures special markers that reflect your current remodeling activity. This test is easy to do and is relatively inexpensive, so it can be run frequently to monitor the effectiveness of your therapy against bone loss. Repeated testing every 2 or 3 months will allow us to adjust your therapy so you can achieve the most benefit in the shortest time.

| Women's Health Profile |
|
What Can the Women’s Health Profile Do for Me?
Understanding your health is necessary for optimal living. As with most disease states,
preventative care and the ability to predict what we are at risk for at the earliest stages is ideal.
Many diseases, including cancer, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, mood disorders, hormonal imbalance, infertility, premature aging, and complications of pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes, pre-term labor, and pre-eclampsia
can be tied to the markers assessed in the Women’s Health Profile. Individual risk for any of these conditions can be a genetic or environmental factors. With the ability to test our biochemical markers for individual risk factor assessment and implement interventions to improve or prevent disease state, the path to optimal health becomes clearer. You gain control of your health!

| Metal Toxicity Test |
|
Nutrient and Toxic Metals - urine collection
Some elements can accumulate in tissues causing toxic effects. Metal toxicity is a significant environmental health concern. A toxic load of lead, cadmium, mercury or arsenic is capable of rendering considerable damage to the brain and nervous system, particularly in children. Toxic elements produce their many negative effects through various mechanisms. The cancer-inducing effect of arsenic seems to be due to an inhibition of DNA repair. Genotoxicity, in which chromosomes are damaged, is linked to the free radical generation abilities of cadmium, lead and nickel. Mercury causes enzyme poisoning.

GI Effects Stool Profiles
– the latest advancement in stool analysis for truly comprehensive results--
Gastrointestinal Function is important for general health. This includes finding a balance between beneficial microbial flora in the gut to enhance health benefits. GI health is key in digestion, nutrient usage, and ridding the body of waste and pathogens. Poor digestion and malabsorption can lead to immune function disorders, nutritional insufficiencies, and disease state. Poor GI function can lead to food allergies and other toxicities.
Your intestinal tract contains significant amounts of bacteria, some beneficial, some neutral, and some that can be harmful. It is essential to know the microbial balance of your GI tract, especially if you have chronic health problems. Health enhancing intestinal bacteria serve to prevent the overgrowth of potentially harmful bacteria in the gut. |

| Phone Consultations |
|
Phone Consultation - $5 per minute, minimum 15 minutes.
How does a phone consultation work?
Dr. Cabeca is able to work with patients over the phone because the health programs she designs are based on the results of lab tests that can easily be done in your home (with the exception of a test that requires a blood draw. Most tests Dr. Cabeca uses require stool, saliva, urine or hair samples.) Dr. Cabeca bases her health programs on lab tests that assess the function of four basic body systems: hormonal, immune, digestive and detoxification.
During your initial phone consultation Dr. Cabeca will review your personal and family health history, and make recommendations for lab tests that are appropriate for your specific health issues.
Once your lab work has been completed, Dr.Cabeca will explain the meaning of your test results to you in a follow up consultation. She will also create an individualized health program for you, which will include one or more of the following: diet changes, nutritional supplements, and exercise, lifestyle and stress management advice.
• Payment is due at time of consultation
• Methods of payment are: Personal check (sent in advance) Visa or MasterCard
• All consultations are time recorded from the time the appointment begins; you will only be billed for the actual time used.
Subsequent visits are scheduled to monitor your progress and to modify your program.
NOTE: You will need to download the following forms and consents and email or fax them to Dr. Cabeca prior to the consult.
